Village Church Committees
The 1983
constitution of the United Parish provided for the Parochial Church Council to
establish sub-committees called Village Church Committees (VCC) that have
responsibility for:
* The maintenance of the church building.
* The day-to-day running of the life of the church in the village.
* The financial concerns of the local church.
Each of the villages in the United Parish has a VCC, usually chaired by one of the Churchwardens. Other members include the other Churchwarden, the Treasurer, the Incumbent, and other lay representatives as decided by the VCC.
At each of the five churches there is also a ‘Friends of…..’ association which takes responsibility for fundraising for the local church. All five Friends associations are Registered Charities.
