St Swithun's is a Grade 1 listed 12th Century architectural gem needing, like any building of its age, constant care and attention. Nately Scures has a small population, and regular additional fundraising is entailed in order to meet the church's day to day expenses, on top of which work over £30,000 has recently had to be raised to restore the ceiling and bells, and a similar amount was required three years ago for work on the exterior of the building.
Examples of events held to support the upkeep and running of the church include:
A lunch, film and talk
Travels through Ethiopia
A Christmas Carol Party held
every two years at Greywell Hill
A concert Flowers in Spring as part
of the Floral Weekend in May 2015
A Christmas Market
A talk on The Battle of Waterloo
